I’ve had these prints up in my Etsy shop for about a month now, but haven’t shared them on the blog yet. So, I figured now was as good a time as any!
A little background: my best friend is getting married next month. She is a big vintage Pyrex lover and collector. So, right away I knew I wanted to incorporate that into her bridal shower, particularly the invitations. My plan was to make illustrated versions of various vintage Pyrex pieces and use them on the invites. Happily, my vision came to life even better than I had hoped. I ended up with a what I think was a beautiful invitation that perfectly embodied Katie’s personality.
If you’re curious, here is a copy of the invitation with identifying information removed. I had the invitations printed through VistaPrint and was very happy with the turnaround time and quality. Especially for the price!
I ended up being so happy with the individual Pyrex illustrations I had created, I didn’t want them to go to waste. I thought they would make a really cute art print, especially for the kitchen or dining room. A little searching on Etsy determined that despite the huge popularity of vintage Pyrex, there was not a big market for Pyrex art. So, with that in mind I used my illustration files to create prints and started listing.
I plan to keep creating even more illustrations using more patterns and dish types. It really is a labor of love and I only hope that others will enjoy them as much as I do!
